Sullivan’s Trap Pan Tension Tester

The Sullivan’s Trap Pan Tension Tester makes it easy to accurately check and fine-tune the pan tension on your foothold traps. Simply press the tester onto the centre of the pan and note the reading when the trap fires.

Correct pan tension helps reduce overly light or loose pan settings that can lead to unwanted firing or missed captures. Each marked line represents 1 lb of pressure, with measurements from 1 to 4 lb, making it a simple tool for setting traps consistently before heading into the field.

Directions

1. Set your foothold trap as you would for use in the field.
2. Place the tester in the centre of the trap pan.
3. Press down slowly and evenly.
4. Note the marked line reached when the trap fires.
5. Adjust the pan tension if required and retest.
